5 out of 5 starsSimply elegant. This antique Art Deco rock crystal and sterling silver necklace is everything I'd hoped for. It's a lovely example of "clean and simple" Art Deco design that really sparkles. I love the fire of its seven faceted stones, interspersed with delicate bar links. At collar length, this understated necklace provides all the glam I need. In superb condition, beautifully presented. Packaging was excellent and very secure. Delivery from UK to US was swift. Wonderful, lovely seller. Many thanks!

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer reservations, layaway, or payment plans?
I'm afraid these are not things that we offer at the moment. However, we do accept purchases via Klarna or Paypal credit in our Etsy shop. Alternatively, we offer an interest free payment plan on our website at www.mercymadge.com
Do you accept returns?
Yes. We must be informed of the intent to return within 3 days of delivery and the item must be shipped back to us within 7 days of it arriving to qualify for a full refund. Rest assured that returned items are not subject to a restocking fee as long as they are returned in the correct manner, within the qualifying period and in original condition. However, we reserve the right to charge a discretionary restocking fee if these conditions are not met. For example in instances where a client returns an item outside the qualifying period or declines to pay an import charge then we reserve the right to charge a 10 to 20% restocking fee depending on individual circumstances.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Antique jewellery, by its very nature, is more fragile than modern jewellery and can be more prone to damage. Many of our pieces are 150 years old or more, it is part of their charm and they will require special care.
We guarantee all our items as described but can not guarantee they won't need maintenance or repair due to use and wear. However, with a modicum of care, the jewellery you cherish of can last many more lifetimes to come.
We accept no responsibility for pieces that become damaged whilst in your possession and such damaged items cannot be returned. Treat your jewellery as you would treat a beloved elderly friend, with respect, kindness and in a gentle manner.
Do you offer ring sizing?
We do offer a re-sizing service for our rings please contact us with your ring size for a cost estimate. Please be aware that if you choose to have a ring sized, or a piece altered in any way, it is considered a customised item and is non-returnable.
Can I place a custom order?
We are unable to show our entire collection in our Etsy shop so if you are looking for something that we don't have please feel free to contact us by email, phone or through our website. We have many more items in stock than are listed and may have the perfect piece.
How do you identify and date your vintage and antique jewellery?
Vintage means older than 20 years old, and antique means over 100 years old. We do our utmost to accurately date and describe our jewellery. We use a variety of techniques, testing and observation. All precious metals are tested. We use both electronic testing equipment (Presidium Gold Karat Tester) and acid testing. All gemstones are tested with the Presidium Gemstone Tester and we use industry standard gauges and digital calipers for measuring gemstones. When we have jewelry appraised we use independent gemologists and jewellers who have no connection to or vested interest in our shop.
Your shop is located in the UK but your shop currency is in US dollars, why is that?
We opened our Etsy store in 2010 when we were located in the USA. Since then we have moved back to the UK but we continue to sell in US dollars because it is our shops original currency, Etsy aren't able to switch our default payment account currency. We do have a website at www.mercymadge.com where we our default currency is GB pounds. Although prices may differ slightly depending on the current exchange rate you can buy at either location in the currency of your choice.
How do I return an item?
If you wish to return your item for a refund then simply get in touch within 3 days of receipt by sending us an Etsy message or email us at info@mercymadge.com Items should be returned in original condition within 7 days and buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If yours is an International return, be sure to carefully follow to the additional instructions below:
How do I return an item from outside the UK?
Items must be returned in the original packaging with the UK customs form visible. To avoid delays and unnecessary import charges use the correct declaration on your local customs form. Declare your package as RETURNED GOODS (do not check/tick the "merchandise" or "sale of goods" box) Any import costs incurred by Mercy Madge due to errors in labelling may be deducted from the refund owed.
If you need additional assistance with your return please get in touch, we are more than happy to help.
